Dr. Salma Shirin, Ph.D

Dr. Salma Shirin is a seasoned analytical scientist with more than 20 years of experience in bioanalytical chemistry, specializing in mass spectrometry–driven workflows that support preclinical drug discovery and development. Her expertise spans LC-MS/MS method development, qualification, validation, and bioanalysis, with an extensive background in ADME/DMPK studies, small-molecule characterization, and regulatory-compliant data generation.
Throughout her career, Dr. Shirin has held key scientific and leadership positions at Praesidia Biotherapeutics (Boston, USA), Dalriada Drug Discovery (Toronto, Canada), Bimeda MTC Animal Health Inc. (Cambridge, ON), and Exova/Element (Mississauga, ON). She has successfully led in-house analytical platforms, managed global CRO collaborations, and mentored multidisciplinary scientific teams to deliver high-quality, FDA-auditable results.
Dr. Shirin earned her Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from Queen’s University, Kingston, Canada. Her scientific journey includes impactful work across environmental, atmospheric, pharmaceutical, and preclinical research settings, giving her a uniquely integrated perspective on analytical rigor and translational application.
At Aryastha Life Sciences, Dr. Shirin leads R&D Services, overseeing proposal coordination, client engagement, and cross-functional collaboration with scientific teams to enable seamless project planning and onboarding. Her deep technical foundation and operational leadership continue to strengthen Aryastha’s commitment to precision, quality, and scientific excellence.
